On May 15th 2023, Campaign Against State Repression (CASR) held an event named “Journalism at Risk: Discussion About Attack on Freedom of Speech and Expression” at HKS Surjeet Bhavan, New Delhi. The invited speakers broadly discussed the ongoing attacks by the Indian state against journalists and independent media.

A Chinese company connected with the Adani Group is involved with building critical infrastructure in India. The firm, PMC Projects (India) Private Limited, has been developing seaports, container terminals, airstrips, electricity transmission lines and railway tracks, among other public utilities. It operates from premises owned by Adani Enterprises, the flagship of the Adani Group, but is owned by Chang Chien-Ting (also known as Morris Chang), son of Chang Chung-Ling, who has been a director of many Adani companies over the years and is said to be a business associate of the ‘elusive’ Vinod Adani.

The Adani group's slowing down can have an impact on the country, said speakers at an event held at the Marathi Patrakar Sangh on Thursday. The Adani group whose stock prices fell drastically post the Hindenburg report has, as a group, seen one of the most dizzying rises in India's history. The slowing down will not just affect the economy of the country but can also lead to large-scale unemployment and the use of public money to bail it out, said the speakers.
