This video is the fifth in a series of eight (8) video recordings of the performances of artistes at the “Music as Protest” festival that took place on the 2nd of December 2024 at Jawahar Bhavan, New Delhi, India. The event held on a Monday evening had an audience of more than 300 and was organised by Janta Radio.
Rajesh Nirmal is a young poet, lyricist and theatre artiste. Here he recites seven of the poems he has written with the titles, “Ants,” “Imtiaz and I,” “School Textbooks,” “The National Anthem,” “On the Platform of the Railway Station,” “Section 144,” and “Visiting the Taj.” The poems in Hindi have been translated/trans-created by Paranjoy Guha Thakurta.

The event was organised by Amartya Ghosh, Trina Shankar, Aditi Sharma and Paranjoy Guha Thakurta. The camerapersons were Trina Shankar, Mohit Kumar and Saurav Somvanshi. The videos were post-produced by Trina Shankar and Aditi Sharma.
